A segment is characterized by 8 criteria: material, cross-section, peripheral reach, stops and shoulders, coating, spring, cutting and surface treatment which will be chosen step by step to enable to find the ring best suited.
In the sealing industry, pallets play an essential role as key components. In 2022, our company took on the serial grinding of as many as 45,000 pallets, and we were able to generate a total of over one million sealing segments in the same year. It is noteworthy that nearly 90% of these sealing segments have also gone through our grinding process, thus underlining the crucial importance of this step in ensuring quality.
With a variety of techniques available, surface treatments can be adapted to many types of materials to meet a wide variety of needs.

The company was created in 1928, following on from Amédée Bollée’s personal business, a car manufacturer since 1890. This company named at the time "Les Segments Amédée Bollée" was initially specialised in the manufacture of pistons ring for internal combustion engines.

Being our principal activity, The Segment AB as put all measures in place to reply to the Aerospace quality expectations. First of all, due to the purchase of the standard EN/AS/JISQ9100, but also the detail to which the rings are handled and controlled. The products are capable of resisting to low or very high temperatures and prove to be robust to all situations. We have also developed know how specific to this market, sealing “Squeeze film”.
