Pallets and Sealing Segments: An Essential Component of Quality
In the sealing industry, pallets play an essential role as key components. In 2022, our company took on the serial grinding of as many as 45,000 pallets, and we were able to generate a total of over one million sealing segments in the same year. It is noteworthy that nearly 90% of these sealing segments have also gone through our grinding process, thus underlining the crucial importance of this step in ensuring quality.
The Quest for Precision
For one of our demanding customers, we undertook pallet grinding with an ambitious goal: to obtain a surface roughness (Ra) less than 0.40 and a perpendicularity of 0.01, all with a plane accuracy of +/- 0.01. We achieved this by using high-performance flat surface grinding machines.
The Rectification Process
Pallet grinding is a meticulous process that requires precise expertise. The workpiece is held in place by an electromagnet or by clamping, while two grinding wheels rotate in the opposite direction to gradually remove the layers of material. This rigorous process results in a precise and smooth surface finish that meets the highest quality standards.
Product Diversity and Production Capabilities
Our diverse machinery allows us to grind pallets of various sizes and materials, including bronze, steel, stainless steel and super alloys. We have the ability to handle batches ranging from 0 to 10,000 pieces per series, ensuring exceptional flexibility to meet our customers' needs.
Contributing to the sealing industry
It is important to note that pallet grinding is a crucial step in the manufacture of sealants. Pallets, with their dimensions ranging from 8 mm to a maximum width of 200 mm, are essential to ensure effective sealing in various applications.
In conclusion, our expertise in pallet grinding and our essential role in the production of sealing segments illustrate our commitment to the quality, accuracy and reliability of the components that regulate the oil flow.
