Hydraulic
In the field of hydraulics, sealing segments play a key role in ensuring tight and reliable connections that reduce fluid losses and ensure the proper functioning of hydraulic equipment. Among the different types of segments used, the SV (Bayonet Cut) and the SH (Hook Cut) are among the most commonly used in various applications, such as hydraulic cylinders, pumps, valves, hydraulic connections and circuits in general.
The SV cut provides a more pronounced contact angle when compressed between the contact surfaces, which improves sealing and pressure resistance. SV is often used in hydraulic applications where high pressure levels need to be managed.
As for the SH cut,
it allows to obtain a better stability of the segment when inserted in a housing or a throat, thus reducing the risk of deformation or damage of the joint. This cut is designed to facilitate the insertion and removal of the segment into the cylinder, reducing the risk of damage during assembly or maintenance. SH is particularly suitable for hydraulic applications where the segments are subjected to movements or vibrations.
